Services
We Offer

Our practices offer a wide variety of preventative medical care, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures for your pet.

Services include outpatient care and a wide spectrum of surgical options.

Examinations

Annual examinations are important for us to assess general well-being of your pet. Annual examinations allow us to monitor your pet’s weight, dental health, cardiovascular health, check for lumps and growths, and address any concerns you may have about your pet’s health.

Vaccinations

Vaccinations are important for keeping your pet safe from contagious diseases. At St. John’s Veterinary clinic we follow the vaccination guidelines set out by the American Animal Hospital Association for cats and dogs. We are more than happy to discuss our vaccination protocols with you and determine the best plan for you and your pet.

Diagnostic Services

We have several diagnostic tools available in clinic. Our in house laboratory allows for a wide variety of blood work, so we can quickly determine what is going on with your pet when it is unwell. Our skilled technicians can also perform urine tests, assess ear and skin swabs for infection, and prepare samples for outside labs.

Radiographs, or x-rays, allow us to see “inside” your pet, to assess organs and bones. X-rays can also be used to determine if a pet is pregnant, and how many babies you might be expecting. Abdominal ultrasounds provides us a more detailed assessment of what is inside your pet’s abdomen.

Surgery

We are able to provide our clients with a variety of surgical procedures, from spays and neuters, to laceration repairs, abdominal surgeries, lump removals, caesarian sections, and many other procedures. Elective surgeries such as spays and neuters can be booked through our receptionists. Other procedures must be booked through consultation with a veterinarian.

Pre-Surgical bloodwork is a mandatory assessment for any patient undergoing a surgical procedure at St. John’s Veterinary Hospital. This bloodwork helps let us know which anesthetic and pain medications will be safest for your pet, and can alert us to previously undiagnosed issues which may make general anesthesia more risky for your pet.

Dentistry

We provide dental services such as dental cleaning, tooth extraction, and preventive care. A consultation with one of our veterinarians will determine what would be best for your pet.

Pharmacy

We offer an onsite pharmacy for your convenience and require 24 hours’ notice on prescription refills.

Pet Care Outlet

We carry a variety of prescriptions and over the counter veterinary diets from Hill’s, Royal Canin, and Purina. We also carry many products to help you with the care of your pet, such as shampoos, ear cleaners, and nutritional supplements. Speak with your veterinarian about which products would be best for your pet.

Flea Products and Parasite Control

We carry a variety of products to help prevent and treat fleas, as well as treat internal parasites. Our staff are trained to assist you in determining the best approach for you, your pets, and your family.

Euthanasia

We offer a variety of options for saying goodbye to your beloved pet, as well as options for after you’ve said goodbye. When the sad day arrives that this decision needs to be made, any of our staff would be happy to go through these options with you and make this process as easy as possible for you.
